    Common questions about server-side attribution.

    What is the difference between client-side and server-side conversion tracking?

    Client-side tracking (a pixel in the browser) sends conversion data directly from the user's device - which browsers, ad blockers, and privacy restrictions can block or strip. Server-side tracking sends the same conversion data from your own server, which is far more resilient to those restrictions and generally includes richer, more accurate data.

    Do we need this if we already have GTM and a Meta pixel installed?

    Yes, if you want reliable data. A client-side pixel alone is increasingly incomplete - server-side tracking runs alongside it, not instead of it, recovering the conversions the pixel misses and improving the accuracy of what both report.

    How does this help with iOS 14.5+ restrictions specifically?

    iOS 14.5+ and Safari ITP restrict tracking that relies on browser cookies and client-side scripts. Server-side APIs bypass much of this by sending conversion data directly from your server using hashed first-party data instead - data the browser cannot block.

    Will this cause duplicate conversions in our ad platforms?

    Not if implemented correctly. We use event ID-based deduplication, which tells the platform that a client-side and server-side event represent the same real conversion, so it is only counted once.

    Do you work with platforms beyond Meta and Google Ads?

    Yes - TikTok Events API is common, and we can scope other platforms (Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn) depending on your media mix during the audit phase.
